What is the setting of World to the West?
World to the West is the sequel of Teslagrad, where Europe is divided in four big nations in competition. One of them comprehends the whole Central Europe, on South Europe (Spain and Italy), one the United Kingdom and Ireland, and one the whole eastern Europe. When the possibility of a war to happen becomes reality, the four nations decide to organize each its own expedition in the West, in the newly discovered continent. This new continent, our America, was populated by an ancient civilization, that has now disappeared, which had a really advanced technology. The objective of three of these missions is to recover these technologies, in order to avoid the conflict by imposing their technological supremacy.
Who are the characters of World to the West and what inspired them?
Every character from World to the West comes from one of the four nations. The Teslamancer has the same abilities as the main character in Teslagrad, hence she uses electricity. The Storng Aristocrat, who is from the UK is inspired by the english aristocrat explorers of the 18th century, who bravely and with the use of brute force faced the wilde nature of the America. The Mindbender is from South Europe and she uses her mind powers to contro monsters to advance. For what concerns the Scrappy Survivor, he doesn’t know where he is. He believes to be on the Moon. His nations hasn’t taken part to the exploration of the new continent, it instead has shot its men on the moon to gather resources from there. The Scrappy Survivor’s mission was a failure, and he has fallen on the new continent, and he’s the only survivor of his team. It’s interesting how every country’s scientific knowledge is somehow wrong.
How is their science wrong?
Every country has its own scientific knowledge and everyone is incomplete, or wrong. It’s wrong to think it’s possible to shoot someone on the Moon. This is really detailed in our story, and it’s very important in the plot of the game.
What about the gameplay and the characters? How will we be able to use them?
Every character has different abilities, and dedicated levels. At a certain point they will all meet, and from that point on it will be possible to choose which character to use, and it will be possible for the player to clear every level with every character, using their different abilities. Playing as a character you will meet the others as NPCs, and their plot will continue.
