Let’s talk about the new physical release, which also includes the DLCs:
It will allows people who didn’t already own the game to get the complete edition, and it will be an upgrade for everyone else. So many players have asked this of us and we’re glad that Nintendo appreciated this approach. I am very happy: I mean, it’s my game and it will be sold in stores. We have been working on it until recently, and it can be preordered on Amazon for 24.99 euros, I found that by chance on the internet! And being honest, I think that’s a great price. There are eight new tracks, many bugs fixed and the online has been fixed. We really hope it will sells well, because as far as I know it’s only the second indie game published by Nintendo, the eShop Selects. It not only expands the market for us, but also for Nintendo. There are many great games that are still relatively unknown.
Shovel Knight has been retail-published, although not with Selects. And with an amiibo. You could consider an amiibo, maybe of a vehicle!
An amiibo? Duly noted!
Are you happy about the results of Fast Racing NEO? Have you had positive player feedback?
We’ve had good reviews and some great reviews. Obviously we’ve also had negative ones but you can’t make everybody happy, and sometimes people complain about little things. For example, some think the game is too hard. We have read every review, and we have followed feedback from the players, like adding the mini-map on the screen. We can’t make everyone happy of course, but we can try.
I have seen players experimenting a lot with the tracks and finding their own personal strategies.
Yes, as well as shortcuts and bugs. We have fixed some, and many complained. They think the most exciting aspect of the game is doing speed runs and finding out the fastest way to complete a track.
What would you like to do after Fast Racing Neo?
The problem is I can’t talk about it. I’d really like to talk about it, but if I say anything…. let me put it this way: we’re very happy to work with Nintendo, we’ll keep doing it and our next project will be with them. We’re also carrying out new experiments and creating new prototypes, but I can’t talk about this either, because they’re so deep in their initial stage that there would be no point talking about it now.
So we can say you’re working hard, and you’ll keep working with Nintendo.
Exactly. Which is good, because selling games online is not easy, but the Nintendo eShop has worked very well for us, so it would be very stupid to change rather than carry on.
