Così come la classifica hardware, anche la chart del software più venduto in Giappone, secondo i dati di Media Create, non presenta novità particolari: solo un nuovo gioco in classifica e posizioni sostanzialmente stabili.
Se la vetta della classifica è occupata da Freedom Wars per Vita, il software Nintendo si difende bene: Yo-kai Watch risale al secondo posto, Taiko no Tatsujin si piazza terzo e Mario Kart 8 si issa in quarta posizione con poco meno di 20k copie vendute (unico gioco Wii U in classifica).
Il resto della classifica vede ben comportarsi un discreto numero di titoli per la console portatile Nintendo: degni di nota sono Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth che si avvicina alle 250k copie e Pokémon Art Academy che supera le 50k.
